AART’s mission is to provide excellence in fertility care. We see patients from Atlantic Canada and beyond. We welcome all patients. In addition to providing care to the 1 in 6 Canadian couples the struggle with infertility, we also provide care to single people and the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

We provide services to patients who have been diagnosed with cancer and individuals pursuing gender affirmation surgeries, who are considering options for fertility preservation. We also provide elective egg freezing.

AART has been providing assisted reproductive therapies since the early 1980’s. AART started at the Grace Maternity Hospital (now IWK Health Centre) and moved out of the hospital in 2005. AART is a private non-profit clinic that was founded by the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of Dalhousie University.

While we are located outside of the hospital, we work closely with the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology to provide training to medical student, residents and fellows, and we also conduct research in conjunction with the Department.
